New Upper-Preschool Series Set for Canal+ Channels

La Cabane Productions is preparing to produce Mush-Mush and the Mushables, a CGI-animated comedy that is slated for broadcast on Canal+’s Piwi+ and Canal+ Family networks.

Mush-Mush and the Mushables follows a group of creatures with special abilities who serve as guardians of the forest. CAKE is on board as co-producer and international distributor of the 52×11-minute show, which is meant for young viewers between the ages of 4 and 7. Production is expected to begin early next year for delivery in 2019.

Mush-Mush and the Mushables was created by Belgium’s Elfriede de Rooster, and is being co-developed by La Cabane Productions and Joeri Christiaen’s Thuristar. VRT-Ketnet has also confirmed its interest in co-producing in Dutch-speaking Belgium, while RTS (French-speaking Switzerland) and RTBF-OUFtivi (French-speaking Belgium) are planning to prebuy the series.

Sophie Boé, the director of co-productions and presales for children’s at Canal+ Group, commented: “Canal+ is looking forward to this new partnership with talented producers Perrine Gauthier and Joeri Christiaen. This original community brings children to the heart of a lush forest full of mysteries; surprises, laughter and woodland adventures are guaranteed!”

Gauthier, producer at La Cabane, noted: “We are thrilled that the strong enthusiasm that Mush-Mush sparked at Cartoon Forum has now materialized into exciting partnerships with both Canal+ and CAKE and further commitment from key broadcasters in Belgium and Switzerland.”

Tom van Waveren, the CEO and creative director of CAKE, added: “We are delighted to be working with La Cabane and Thuristar on this little gem charmingly named Mush-Mush and the Mushables, which puts community, wonder and friendship at the heart of its world. These are values we feel have merit in being promoted and certainly when done with this much talent and creativity, and a smile never far away.”
