New European Animation Plan Revealed

The European Commission has established a new animation plan for Europe that involves three key objectives to be achieved within the next five years.

The first goal is fostering the global reach and appeal of EU animation by promoting it, marketing it and making it readily available in many languages; teasing content prior to its release and dubbing are essential. The second objective is making Europe a desirable place to work for talent from the continent and abroad, and the third is easier access to financing in the region.

A statement from the European Animation Plan reads: “The animation sector has been recognized by the European Commission for its growth potential and in the context of the Digital Single Market and copyright reform. The Commission has facilitated discussions with the animation industry on the opportunities and challenges that the industry faces and on how best to promote and distribute animation works. This European Animation Plan is the result of these meetings, consultations and discussions with all the stakeholders involved, and reflects the views of industry players.”
