Marvel Super Hero Adventures Content Program Unveiled

Marvel Entertainment has launched Marvel Super Hero Adventures, a multiplatform content program for young fans.

The Marvel Super Hero Adventures stories will explore themes such as helping others, friendship and heroism. The content will be supported by new offerings across comic books, graphic novels and merchandise, including toys, lifestyle and apparel.

This fall, Marvel Animation is launching a season of ten short-form episodes across multiple platforms, marking Marvel’s first production focused on a preschool audience. Each episode will feature Spider-Man teamed up with other Marvel heroes. Classic heroes like Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Captain America and Ant-Man, as well as emerging favorites like Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Wasp and Ms. Marvel, will make appearances in the episodes. Platforms and a launch date for the short-form series will be revealed at a later time.

In addition, a Marvel Super Hero Adventures pre-cool product line from Hasbro, featuring new character tie-ins and play experiences inspired by the Marvel animation, will launch this fall. Further merchandise rollouts include offerings across toys and apparel, with supportive collaborations from Mad Engine, Jay Fanco, GBG, Jakks Pacific and others. Additional Marvel Super Hero Adventures products will debut throughout October during Marvel Mania, Marvel’s celebratory campaign spanning retailers such as Walmart, Target, Toys“R”Us and more.

Debuting this month is a series of early-reader chapter books, which will join the existing line of Marvel Super Hero Adventures activity books and storybooks. The first chapter book is Deck the Malls! from Marvel Press, written by MacKenzie Cadenhead and Sean Ryan and illustrated by Derek Laufman. Three more chapter books and a growing publishing program will continue to roll out through 2018 and beyond. The Super Hero Adventures merchandising program is led by a core toy collaboration with Hasbro.

“Marvel storytelling and characters engage parents and fans around the world, and now preschoolers have the chance to experience the fun and excitement of the Marvel Universe,” said Paul Gitter, the senior VP of Marvel Licensing. “Marvel is a brand for fans of all ages, but particularly preschoolers and is trusted with preschool parents. Since our characters are inspiring, heroic, responsible and brave, the new products are the perfect way for preschoolers to celebrate their passion for Marvel in their daily lives.”

“We are delighted to bring Marvel Super Hero Adventures to life across multiple divisions of Marvel Entertainment,” said Dan Buckley, the president of Marvel Entertainment. “The program and content that the teams have developed is smart, inspiring and will reach a whole new generation of Marvel fans.”
