Keith Dawkins Steps Down at Nickelodeon

Keith Dawkins, the executive VP of TeenNick and Nicktoons at Viacom’s Nickelodeon, is leaving the company to become CEO of The First Tee, a non-profit youth development organization.

As executive VP of TeenNick and Nicktoons, Dawkins oversaw the day-to-day operations for both networks, including programming, marketing, digital, social and on-air promotion. He first joined Nickelodeon in 2003 as VP and manager of Nicktoons. Earlier in his career, he was a producer at Fox News Channel.

Dawkins will start his new position at The First Tee on October 16 as incoming CEO, and he will officially become CEO upon the retirement of Joe Louis Barrow, Jr. on January 1, 2018. Dawkins will report to the World Golf Foundation Board and The First Tee Advisory Board.

“I am excited to be joining The First Tee and look forward to working alongside both boards and key stakeholders—including chapters—to build upon the success and foundation of the organization,” stated Dawkins. “We are currently looking at the largest and most diverse group of kids our country has ever seen….which creates an abundance of future opportunities for golf and The First Tee for years to come.”
