Gubbare Kids’ Channel to Launch First Original

IN10 Media Network’s kids’ channel Gubbare is set to launch Akki Jaanbaaz, its first original, on December 27.

Produced by Toonz Animation, the series centers on Akki, a 9-year-old magical martial arts superhero who must find a balance between his normal life and his superhero persona.

Akki Jaanbaaz will air in Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu.

Gubbare also has two more original titles in the pipeline. Roro aur Hero—Bhoot mast! Zabardast and Akul aur Nakul—The Asuras both explore the themes of friendship, family and good vs. evil.

Brian D’Costa, AVP of content and strategy at Gubbare, said, “Since its launch in 2020, Gubbare has kept kids at the core—be it the characters or stories. The launch of the IPs is a significant milestone for us as we move toward garnering a larger share of the viewership pie.”

He continued, “With local, relevant and entertaining narratives, we will further strengthen our original programming in multiple languages, as we want to connect with kids across regions. Kids today want differentiated content and our new lineup will fulfill that need-gap in the genre.”
