LONDON: Twofour Rights has secured several deals for the 2D animated kids’ series Toot the Tiny Tugboat in Australia, the U.K. and Germany.

Twofour Rights has licensed the show to Disney Australia, Netflix in the U.K. and the Your Family Entertainment (YFE) channel in Germany. Toot the Tiny Tugboat is based on the book Toot and Pop! by Sebastien Braun and follows the adventures of an ambitious tugboat named Toot and his aquatic friends. It was originally commissioned by Channel 5’s Milkshake! Following its success on the channel, Toot the Tiny Tugboat has recently moved to a new 9 a.m. slot and will continue to run throughout the year on Cartoonito.

Paul Robinson, the executive VP of Your Family Entertainment, said: “Toot the Tiny Tugboat is a beautifully crafted preschool series that will delight audiences in German-speaking Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and it will be a pleasure to introduce children to his adventures and friends, building on its success on Cartoon Network and Channel 5 in the U.K.”

Anthony Appell, the head of sales at Twofour, commented: “Toot the Tiny Tugboat taps into universal seaside themes and characters that the whole family identifies with globally and makes learning fun. We’re delighted we can build on the success of the brand and make Toot an international smash hit!”

Ruth Fielding, joint managing director at Lupus Films, added: “We’re really pleased that Toot is starting to make a splash with international broadcast partners around the world and still continues to perform very strongly in the U.K.”

Toot the Tiny Tugboat is a Toot Enterprises production in association with Lupus Films, Cloth Cat Animation and Boom Kids.
