Folivari International has acquired the international rights to two new series, including The Baker Street Four.

From Folivari and Blue Spirit, The Baker Street Four is based on the French comics Les Quatre de Baker Street, which were inspired by original characters from Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes novels. It follows a group of street urchins who Holmes pays to act as intelligence agents.

The tween animation is comprised of 12 26-minute parts. It is supported by French broadcaster CANAL+.

Folivari International also picked up the rights to Guitar and Drum, an animated series for 3- to 6-year-olds co-produced by Hype Animation and Punkrobot. It tells the story of two musical instruments who are best friends. They celebrate the diversity of their musical-instrument town, showing how differences make us special.

The acquisitions come after Folivari International launched earlier this year, with former Dandelooo head Melissa Vega heading up the company’s distribution pipeline. Vega is co-founder of Folivari International alongside the Folivari management team of Damien Brunner, Thibaut Ruby and Sarah Delmas.

“After a successful kickstart to Folivari International this year, we’re really proud to be onboarding two children’s series with wide appeal for international audiences,” said Brunner. “With 3D and 2D animated hybrid The Baker Street Four, based on such a beloved franchise, and preschool animation series Guitar and Drum, the series represent the diversity of Folivari International’s slate and mark just the start of our plans to acquire strong and unique series from across the world.”
