Video Interview: Craig Gerber on Firebuds

Craig Gerber—behind such hits as Sofia the First and Elena of Avalor—has been working on kids’ programming with Disney since 2009. His latest series, Firebuds, is set in a world where talking vehicles live, work and play alongside the humans who drive them. Each episode sees the children of first responders and their vehicles learn what it means to be a hero through community service. The series is slated to debut on Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney+ on September 21.

Gerber talks to TV Kids Weekly about the show’s origins, the importance of representation in all his projects and his long-standing partnership with Disney.
