BURBANK: Disney Junior has ordered a fifth season of the Peabody Award-winning animated series Doc McStuffins for broadcast in 2018.

Meant for viewers between the ages of 2 and 7, Doc McStuffins follows the adventures of an imaginative young girl who aspires to be a doctor like her mother. The show, which has an extensive off-screen presence, is produced by Brown Bag Films in association with Disney Channel. It is created and executive produced by Humanitas Prize and Emmy Award winner Chris Nee.

Nancy Kanter, the executive VP and general manager of Disney Junior Worldwide, said: “Doc McStuffins is an unmistakable example of our commitment to powerful storytelling that enriches and enlightens kids. I can think of no other children’s television show in recent history that has touched as many lives and made the kind of impact around the world that Doc has. Our viewers have forged a deep connection with this series and are very vocal about how strongly they believe in these characters. We are excited to share with them many more stories about Doc and her toys when season five begins airing in 2018.”
