Disney Junior Lines Up Series Finale of Sofia the First

Next month, Disney Junior is concluding the Emmy-winning animated show Sofia the First with the extended-length special episode Sofia the First: Forever Royal.

Sofia the First centers on a girl who becomes a princess after her mother marries the king. In the finale, as Sofia prepares for her graduation from Royal Prep Academy, she is called back to the Mystic Isles to defeat an evil witch. The episode will debut on Saturday, September 8, at 11 a.m. on Disney Junior and the DisneyNOW app.

Sofia the First is exec produced by Jamie Mitchell and Craig Gerber. Mitchell also serves as director, while Gerber developed the series and wrote the finale with Michael G. Stern. The show is produced by Disney Television Animation.
