Disney Channel Original Zombies Begins Production

Production has kicked off on Zombies, a new original movie that is slated to premiere on Disney Channel in 2018.

Zombies centers on Seabrook High School, where transfer students from Zombietown disrupt the suburban community’s uniformity and traditions. The music- and dance-filled production is directed by Jeffrey Hornaday, choreographed by Christopher Scott and Hornaday (Teen Beach Movie), and exec produced by Effie Brown (Star) and Hornaday. It co-stars Meg Donnelly (American Housewife) and Milo Manheim (Ghost Whisperer).

Additional cast members include Trevor Tordjman (The Next Step), Kylee Russell (Jump In) and Carla Jeffery (Curb Your Enthusiasm).

Adam Bonnett, the executive VP of original programming at Disney Channels Worldwide, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with Jeffrey Hornaday again to bring this new world of zombies and cheerleading to life. Jeffrey and Chris Scott have delivered some of our most memorable musical sequences on Disney Channel; and now with Effie Brown on board as an executive producer, we are excited to deliver this inspirational story about tolerance, inclusion, individuality and conviction—each relatable themes for our viewers.”
