Disney Channel Greenlights Pilot from Lizzie McGuire Creator

BURBANK: Disney Channel has ordered a new series pilot from Terri Minsky, the creator of the hit teen sitcom Lizzie McGuire, which aired on the network in the early 2000s.

The untitled single-camera pilot, meant for kids, tweens and families, will star young actress Peyton Elizabeth Lee. The story will center on Andi Marcus, who's about to turn 13 and wants to have fun teenage adventures but is being held back by her overbearing mother. Andi's life is turned upside down when her deadbeat older sister returns home and claims that she is ready to get her life together.

The show will be executive produced by Minsky and Michelle Manning, whose credits include Disney Channel's upcoming movie Adventures in Babysitting and Teen Beach 2. It is scheduled to head into production early next year.
