Heidi, Robot Trains on Mondo’s DISCOP Johannesburg Slate

JOHANNESBURG: The live-action teen series Heidi, Welcome Home (Heidi, Bienvenida a Casa), which Mondo TV will be talking about to buyers at DISCOP Johannesburg, is a reimagining of the classic novel by Johanna Spyri.

Another highlight is Robot Trains, which is produced by CJ E&M and distributed by Mondo TV. The animated series follows the inhabitants of Train World as they try to save their town from evil forces. “The show is unique with its fun story and high-end quality of animation,” says Micheline Azoury, Mondo TV’s head of television sales. “Mondo TV will be handling TV sales and licensing across some Southern European countries, the Middle East, Israel and Africa.”

There is also Adventures in Duckport, an animated comedy featuring characters from Suzy’s Zoo. “We are confident that our 2016 lineup of new shows we are showcasing at DISCOP Johannesburg will have great appeal,” adds Azoury. She adds, “We are working on expanding to all broadcasters in [Africa], in the French-, English-, Arabic- and Portuguese-speaking markets.”

Other highlights on offer from the company will be Yoohoo & Friends, Cuby Zoo, Nutri Ventures, Playtime Buddies, Puppy in My Pocket, Beast Keeper, Cat Leopold and Treasure Island. All of these series have been dubbed into a number of languages and are available for all TV rights and new digital media rights (including VOD, SVOD, IPTV and mobile TB platforms worldwide).
