Descendants Series to Return to Disney Channel

BURBANK: Disney Channel has lined up a sophomore season of Descendants: Wicked World, an animated short-form series based on the hit film about the offspring of Disney villains.

Season two will feature three original songs and introduce new characters. Joining the cast in recurring roles are Bradley Steven Perry (Lab Rats: Elite Force) as Zevon, son of Yzma from The Emperor’s New Groove, and Lauryn McClain (Daddy’s Little Girls) as Freddie, daughter of Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog. The new season will debut this fall on Disney Channel, the Disney Channel app, YouTube and on VOD.

Descendants was the number one cable television movie of 2015 and the fifth highest-rated original movie ever on U.S. cable TV in total viewers. A sequel is slated to kick off production in the coming months. Descendants: Wicked World has reached more than 30 million total viewers in the U.S. and delivered over 100 million consumer engagements on the Disney Channel app, VOD and YouTube. The finale for the show’s first season will air tomorrow night at 8 p.m.
