Art Ninja Gets Season 4 on CBBC

CBBC in the U.K. has commissioned a fourth season of the factual-entertainment series Art Ninja.

Dot To Dot Productions will produce the 10 30-minute episodes. Season four, which will see the return of animator Ricky Martin, is expected to air in winter 2018. Art Ninja is distributed by Serious Lunch.

Cheryl Taylor commissioned the series, which will be executive produced by Hugh Lawton for CBBC and Jo Killingley for Dot To Dot. Richard Hunt serves as series producer.

Lawton said: “I can’t think of a time when inspiring creativity in the U.K. was more important and Art Ninja’s unique formula will do it again for [season] four in huge, funny and entertaining dollops!”

Killingley, who created the format with Alan Robinson, added: “We hope Art Ninja inspires a new generation of Ninja Apprentices to see there’s art absolutely everywhere. Art is about ideas, and ideas are what will shape the future.”

Genevieve Dexter, the founder and CEO of Serious Lunch, commented: “Art Ninja is a fantastic brand; as it grows, we hope to place the series in more key territories at MIPCOM to join Discovery Asia, Australia, MEA, Canal Once, TVB and Noga as our partners.”
