Another Season of The Lodge for Disney EMEA

LONDON: Disney EMEA has given the go-ahead to a 15-episode second season of the new musical drama series The Lodge, produced by Zodiak Kids Studios.

The Lodge follows the life of a teenage girl who moved from a big city to a rural town following the death of her mother. Filming on the sophomore season, which will contain 12 original songs, is slated to kick off in Northern Ireland early next year. The live-action show was created and commissioned by Disney EMEA. It will be available in more than 100 territories by the end of 2016.

David Levine, the VP of programming, production and strategic development at Disney Channels EMEA, and general manager of Disney Channels UK & Ireland, said: “We know we have something special in The Lodge. We have an exceptionally talented cast, chart-worthy music, a glorious setting, fantastic story and great production partners, all of which have come together to create something just a little bit different. The reception to the show in the U.K. has been outstanding and we are excited to see how our audiences across EMEA respond as it continues to roll out across our remaining territories.”

Steven Andrew, executive producer on The Lodge, added: “We are excited to be back on board and returning to Northern Ireland for another [season] of The Lodge. We’ll get to know our characters even better, there will be more surprises, fantastic music, action, and of course, lots of drama.”
