MELBOURNE: The Australian Children’s Television Foundation (ACTF) has sold the short-form animated comedy series Dukes of Bröxstônia to German home-entertainment company Nipponart.

Nipponart will release all three seasons of Dukes of Bröxstônia on DVD/Blu-ray in German-speaking territories, and will also make the episodes available online throughout Europe. The show, which is already a hit in the Asia Pacific, centers on a trio of teenage bandmates who go on tour thanks to the generosity of the Bröxstônian government. The Sticky Pictures production is created by Stu Connolly and Suren Perera. The second season is slated to begin airing on Disney XD in the U.S. later this month.

Christian Viertel, Nipponart’s head of licensing and acquisition, commented: “Nipponart is thrilled to be bringing the Dukes of Bröxstônia to the European home-entertainment market. We are sure kids in Europe will love the Dukes’ irreverent humor and punk attitude, and we look forward to making the show available to them in 2016.”
