CAKE has signed a deal with CITV in the U.K. for TeamTO’s slapstick comedy Mighty Mike, which is slated to premiere on the network next month.

The 78×7-minute dialogue-free cartoon stars Mike, a refined pug with sophisticated tastes who longs for a quiet life but is instead forced to defend his house from a bunch of furry intruders. With photorealistic visuals, Mighty Mike is aimed at the 6-to-10-year-old set. The series will bow on CITV on January 6 and air weekdays at 4:30 p.m.

CITV joins broadcasters Cartoon Network, which airs the series internationally on Boomerang; Universal Kids in the U.S.; CBC and Family Channel in Canada; France Télévisions; Super RTL Germany; and more recently, YLE Finland, VRT Belgium, KRO-NCRV Holland and ABC Australia. Tencent will launch the series in 2020 in China.

An original TeamTO production with Canada’s Digital Dimension, Mighty Mike is distributed internationally by CAKE (excluding France, Germany and China). Surge Licensing is handling licensing in the U.S. and Canada.

CAKE CCO and Managing Director Ed Galton said, “CITV is the latest in a long line of key partnerships on Mighty Mike, which is testament to the series’ strong caliber and universal appeal.”

Darren Nartey, ITV’s senior program acquisitions executive, added, “I am absolutely thrilled to be bringing this distinctive animated series to CITV. A combination of slapstick comedy and great writing makes this the perfect show for our audience.”
