41 Entertainment Slates Second YA Animated Project

41 Entertainment has in the works Roswell Conspiracies, its second young adult animated project in the science-fiction space.

41 Entertainment created the project in-house and owns exclusive global, multimedia and animation rights for Roswell Conspiracies, for which it has plans for an eight-episode first season.

Kiersten Halstead, VP of acquisitions, development and production at 41 Entertainment, said: “Science fiction is always interesting—especially to older kids and young adults! This project speaks to a current, and consistently, trending topic of UFOs, aliens and, the world’s desire to know what’s really hidden behind the locked gates of Area 51. We developed it in-house to speak to a global audience who knows that aliens are indeed real!”

In Roswell Conspiracies, aliens are real and they include mostly peaceful vampires, werewolves, ghosts and goblins that are able to pass as human beings. As for the monstrous enemy aliens, they’re locked up and guarded by the Alliance at Area 51 until an internet joke leads to chaos and the escape of a number of inmates—including Nosferatu, the Vampire King. It’s up to new Alliance agents Michael “Eek” Ekong and his partner Valerie Torsdotter to recapture him.

Halstead added: “Logan Lubera (Deadline: A Sequential Zombie, Stanger in the Dunes) is a Marvel cover artist and he did an incredible job with the comic book style. We envision this style in animation.”

Showrunner Kaaren Lee Brown added: “This story will resonate with fans of science fiction who like their alien conspiracies mixed with plenty of action, a bit of romance and a lot of comedy.”
