TV Azteca has commissioned the first-ever Latin American version of the hit dating reality show Married at First Sight<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The Mexican broadcaster will air the 14×2-hour series under the local title Casados a Primera Vista<\/em> in a weekly, Sunday night free-to-air prime-time slot on Azteca UNO.\u00a0Endemol Shine Boomdog is producing the local treatment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Spiral International secured the deal with TV Azteca, having acquired the Latin American rights to the format\u00a0<\/b>from Red Arrow Studios International.\u00a0The Mexican deal marks the 32nd commission for the show.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tim Gerhartz, managing director at Red Arrow Studios International, said: \u201cWe are delighted that TV Azteca has commissioned the inaugural version of the format in Latin America, and we are sure that local audiences in Mexico will love watching their own local version of the format.\u00a0Married at First Sight<\/em>\u2019s global footprint continues to grow and grow as the format proves itself to be more than just a TV show for broadcasters around the world\u2014it has really cemented its position as a mega-format and a channel-defining brand.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zasha Robles, managing director at Spiral International, added: \u201cStorytelling is having a renaissance, particularly stories that shine a positive light on an institution like marriage. In Married at First Sight<\/em>, couples meet for the first time on their wedding day, at which point everyone in Latin America will be asking the question: \u2018Just how many people are ready to tie the knot without knowing each other in such a conservative culture?\u2019 Well, more than you think\u2026 as millions of viewers in Mexico are about to find out!\u201d<\/p>\n
