{"id":9221,"date":"2022-09-06T09:07:54","date_gmt":"2022-09-06T13:07:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/chwarel-cwmni-da-produce-welsh-gogglebox\/"},"modified":"2022-09-06T12:30:28","modified_gmt":"2022-09-06T16:30:28","slug":"chwarel-cwmni-da-to-produce-welsh-gogglebox","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/chwarel-cwmni-da-to-produce-welsh-gogglebox\/","title":{"rendered":"Chwarel, Cwmni Da to Produce Welsh Gogglebox"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Welsh indies Chwarel and Cwmni Da have won the tender to produce <em>Gogglebocs Cymru<\/em>, the local version of the <em>Gogglebox<\/em> format, for S4C.<\/p>\n<p>Chwarel will team up with the Caernarfon-based production company Cwmni Da to co-produce this first-ever Welsh-language version of Channel 4\u2019s and Studio Lambert\u2019s hit format.<\/p>\n<p>This is the first time Studio Lambert and Channel 4 have licensed the franchise to another U.K.-based broadcaster.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s going to be absolutely amazing,\u201d said Sioned Wyn, managing director of Chwarel. \u201cWe\u2019ve been waiting a long time for something like this. The ambition is to make it not only the top-rated show on S4C but the whole of Wales\u2014and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019d been talking about working together for a while,\u201d said Llion Iwan, Cwmni Da\u2019s managing director. \u201cSo when the franchise for the U.K.\u2019s most popular TV format came up, it was a dream come true. Who doesn\u2019t want to work on <em>Gogglebocs<\/em>!
