{"id":9201,"date":"2022-08-30T09:16:54","date_gmt":"2022-08-30T13:16:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/dancing-stars-debut-latvia\/"},"modified":"2022-08-30T09:16:54","modified_gmt":"2022-08-30T13:16:54","slug":"dancing-with-the-stars-to-debut-in-latvia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/dancing-with-the-stars-to-debut-in-latvia\/","title":{"rendered":"Dancing with the Stars to Debut in Latvia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BBC Studios has signed a deal with All Media Baltics that sees <em>Dancing with the Stars<\/em> launching in Latvia and returning in Estonia.<\/p>\n<p>The launch in Latvia marks the 61st territory to license the hit format. <em>Dancing with the Stars<\/em> has previously been available in such Baltic and Balkan countries as Lithuania, Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia.<\/p>\n<p>The show is being produced as a 13-episode season for Latvia and eight-episode seasons for Estonia, airing this fall on TV3.<\/p>\n<p>Andr\u00e9 Renaud, senior VP of global format sales for BBC Studios, said: \u201cWith more than 400 seasons, over 4,000 episodes and almost 5,000 couples taking part in productions around the world since the format launched in the U.K. in 2004, Dancing with the Stars brings joy to audiences wherever it travels to. It\u2019s testament to the quality of the format that it continues to launch into new markets and will return to screens for fans in Estonia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>El\u012bna J\u0113kabsone, program director of TV3 Group in Latvia, said: \u201c<em>Dancing with the Stars<\/em> is a legendary show; it\u2019s one of the most watched and beloved shows in the world and, of course, in Latvia as well. TV3 is the largest commercial channel in Latvia, and Sunday shows are an integral part of our program. Every year we please our viewers with great, high-quality shows and <em>Dancing with the Stars<\/em> is definitely one of the top shiny-floor shows in the world. It&#8217;s a show that makes everybody move not only on the dance floor but also those sitting comfortably in front of the TV screens. Positive emotions, beautiful dances and dresses, competitive spirit, supporting your favorites and discussing the performances with colleagues the next morning\u2014this is <em>Dancing with the Stars<\/em>.
