{"id":9037,"date":"2022-06-15T08:49:07","date_gmt":"2022-06-15T12:49:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/netflix-sets-squid-game-competition-series\/"},"modified":"2022-06-15T13:08:54","modified_gmt":"2022-06-15T17:08:54","slug":"netflix-sets-squid-game-competition-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/netflix-sets-squid-game-competition-series\/","title":{"rendered":"Netflix Sets Squid Game Competition Series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Netflix has greenlit <em>Squid Game: The Challenge<\/em>, which it is billing as \u201cthe biggest reality competition series ever.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The show is expected to have the largest cast and lump sum cash prize in reality TV history, with 456 real players who will enter the game in pursuit of a life-changing reward of $4.56 million.<\/p>\n<p>As they compete through a series of games inspired by the original show, plus new additions, their strategies, alliances and character will be put to the test while competitors are eliminated around them.<\/p>\n<p>The ten-episode competition series is a co-production between Studio Lambert (<em>The Circle<\/em>) and The Garden (<em>24 Hours in A&amp;E<\/em>). It will be filmed in the U.K.<\/p>\n<p>Recruitment is open now at SquidGameCasting.com for\u00a0English-language speakers from any part of the world.<\/p>\n<p>Stephen Lambert, Tim Harcourt and Toni Ireland from Studio Lambert and John Hay, Nicola Hill and Nicola Brown from The Garden will serve as executive producers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Squid Game<\/em> took the world by storm with director Hwang\u2019s captivating story and iconic imagery.
