Banijay Rights’ hit LEGO Masters<\/em> format is headed to South Korea via broadcaster MBC.<\/p>\n

The competition reality format has now been adapted for 16 broadcasters. In Korea, it will be the only non-locally originated unscripted format on free-to-air television.<\/p>\n

MBC is co-producing LEGO Masters<\/em> with B&C CONTENT, with production already underway. This is the second Asian adaptation in the last three months, following a Chinese commission by Shenzhen TV. TVNZ, Spain’s Atresmedia and Norway’s TV 2 also recently ordered local versions. LEGO Masters<\/em> was created by Tuesday\u2019s Child Television and the LEGO Group.<\/p>\n

Daryl Kho, senior VP for Asia, formats, at Banijay Rights, said, \u201cLEGO Masters<\/em> is already a global phenomenon, providing upbeat and inclusive viewing to audiences worldwide, so taking this show to South Korea is a thrilling moment for Banijay Rights. This is a landmark deal\u2014the only unscripted format originating from outside South Korea to air on its free-to-air TV channels\u2014and I can\u2019t wait to see the creative builds the Korean contestants will dream up with their LEGO bricks.\u201d<\/p>\n
