Japan remains a source of innovation in the entertainment formats space, and Fuji Television Network is looking to cement that reputation with its brand-new quiz show format Quiz Pinch Hitter<\/em><\/a>, one of the highlights in the TV Formats Screenings Festival<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the new concept, contestants don\u2019t have to answer the questions by themselves\u2014they use a network of connections of friends and followers on social media to solve the challenges during the live broadcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cQuiz Pinch Hitter brings television and the internet together,\u201d says Ryuji Komiya, head of formats at Fuji Television Network. “We thought it would be very interesting and fun to create very difficult questions and use the social network to answer them.
