BBC Studios has licensed the game-show format The 1% Club<\/em> to Israeli public broadcaster Kan 11.<\/p>\n

The prime-time entertainment format tests the nation\u2019s intelligence, based on a scientific survey. The 15×1-hour Israeli treatment will go into production in August and is scheduled to air in 2022.<\/p>\n

Israel is the second international market to license the format, after a deal with France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions. The local series will be produced by BBC Studios France for France 2.<\/p>\n

The 1% Club<\/em> was created by Magnum Media, which will produce it for ITV in the U.K. to debut later this year.<\/p>\n

Andr\u00e9 Renaud, senior VP of global format sales at BBC Studios, said: \u201cThe focus of The 1% Club<\/em> on real intelligence rather than how much you learned at school, makes this a really accessible and unique show. Many families and friends have friendly rivalries around who has the most \u2018brains\u2019 so I\u2019m looking forward to seeing this entertaining series bring people in Israel together to have fun and play along on Kan 11.\u201d<\/p>\n
