ITV has commissioned a local version of The Masked Dancer<\/em>, following on the success of The Masked Singer<\/em>, which attracted a consolidated audience of 10 million viewers with its finale.<\/p>\n

The 7×90-minute series, produced by Bandicoot Scotland, will feature renowned dancer Oti Mabuse joining the panel alongside Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan and Davina McCall, as Joel Dommett presents. The Masked Dancer<\/em> will air late spring on ITV and ITV Hub.<\/p>\n

Mabuse said: “I\u2019m so thrilled and honored to be joining the panel on The Masked Dancer<\/em>. I\u2019m a huge fan of The Masked Singer<\/em> and I loved the U.S. Masked Dancer<\/em> so I just can\u2019t wait to start on this show. As a dancer I will be watching the dancers intently looking for clues\u2014it\u2019s going to be so much fun!!!”<\/p>\n

Ross said: “What people don\u2019t know is that secretly I am an expert in dance and can spot a ball change from a box step no problem. The title of best detective on the panel is most certainly coming my way!\u201d<\/p>\n

Gilligan said: “I love The Masked Singer<\/em>. It\u2019s a crazy bit of joy, which we all need right now\u2014so when ITV asked if I wanted to join The Masked Dancer<\/em>, I, of course, said a huge yes! I\u2019m really looking forward to getting back with the team for another brilliant series.”<\/p>\n

McCall said: \u201cI love playing detective and I love dancing so what could be better?! I\u2019m currently swotting up on all things dance in preparation and I will be watching those celebrity feet like a hawk. They always have such an amazing cast on The Masked Singer<\/em> so it could literally be anyone hiding and dancing behind those masks and that\u2019s what makes it so exciting.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dommett said: \u201cWell, this is set to be an amazing fun twist\u2026will someone do the twist?! The Masked Dancer<\/em> is that little bit of silly fun our lives need right now and I\u2019m so excited to be hosting it. I\u2019m looking forward to some incredible costumes, epic performances and accidentally saying Masked Singer<\/em> at least five times.\u201d<\/p>\n

Katie Rawcliffe, ITV\u2019s head of entertainment commissioning, said: \u201cThe Masked Singer<\/em> is a huge hit for ITV and our viewers can\u2019t get enough of this colorful guessing game. The Masked Dancer<\/em> will build on that success and create a new format that will be just as much fun and entertaining for our viewers.\u201d<\/p>\n
