{"id":7819,"date":"2020-08-21T09:20:34","date_gmt":"2020-08-21T13:20:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/masterchef-professionals-moves-bbc-one\/"},"modified":"2020-08-21T10:54:26","modified_gmt":"2020-08-21T14:54:26","slug":"masterchef-the-professionals-moves-to-bbc-one","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/masterchef-the-professionals-moves-to-bbc-one\/","title":{"rendered":"MasterChef: The Professionals Moves to BBC One"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BBC One has become the new home of\u00a0<em>MasterChef: The Professionals<\/em>, which moves over from BBC Two.<\/p>\n<p>The six-week series, marking the 13th competition, features judges Michelin-starred chef Marcus Wareing, chef Monica Galetti and celebrated <em>MasterChef<\/em> judge Gregg Wallace side-by-side once again. <em>MasterChef: The Professionals<\/em> has been BBC Two\u2019s highest rating cookery series for the past three years. The last season achieved record audience figures, with 3.55 million viewers tuning in for the finale.<\/p>\n<p>Charlotte Moore, director of BBC Content, said: \u201c<em>MasterChef<\/em> is one of the channel\u2019s biggest brands and following the impact of COVID on the production of original programming it feels like the time is right to move <em>The Professionals<\/em>\u00a0to BBC One and find an even wider audience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Commissioning Editor for the BBC, Carla-Maria Lawson, said: \u201c<em>MasterChef: The Professionals<\/em> has uncovered and nurtured some incredible culinary talent over the years whilst also reflecting changes in the way we eat out. It\u2019s never been a more challenging time for these talented professionals and it\u2019s exciting that they\u2019ll be able to showcase their skills to the BBC One audience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shine TV\u2019s executive producer for <em>MasterChef<\/em>, David Ambler, said: \u201cThis year\u2019s <em>MasterChef: The Professionals<\/em> is a fantastic competition.
