Viacom International Studios (VIS) has signed an agreement with RTL Germany\u2019s SVOD service TVNOW for a local adaptation of the dating-competition format Are You the One?<\/em><\/p>\n

Launched on MTV US in 2014 and now in its eighth season, Are You the One?<\/em> is a reality game show which brings together 20 single men and women hoping to find love. Pre-matched by dating experts, the 20 singles have ten attempts to work out the ten correct \u201cperfect matches\u201d in the hope of sharing a huge cash prize. After Mexico, Brazil, Sweden, Denmark and France, where a fourth season is currently in production, the German version will be the sixth international adaption of the format. The 10×60-minute episodes will be shot in South Africa and produced by RTL Studios to air later this year.<\/p>\n

This is the second format deal struck with RTL exclusively for TVNOW following last year\u2019s sale of the dating show Finding Prince Charming<\/em>, which has been renewed for a second season.<\/p>\n

Laura Burrell, head of formats at VIS, commented: \u201cWe are very excited to have struck a new deal for our ever-green reality show Are You The One?<\/em>, one of the most adaptable, relatable and irresistible dating formats of recent years, which we are sure German audiences will love.
