{"id":6733,"date":"2019-02-11T13:02:01","date_gmt":"2019-02-11T18:02:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/nat-geo-hit-life-zero-gets-canadian-treatment\/"},"modified":"2019-02-11T13:02:01","modified_gmt":"2019-02-11T18:02:01","slug":"nat-geo-hit-life-below-zero-gets-canadian-treatment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/nat-geo-hit-life-below-zero-gets-canadian-treatment\/","title":{"rendered":"Nat Geo Hit Life Below Zero Gets Canadian Treatment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Blue Ant Media has licensed the format rights to the U.S. hit <em>Life Below Zero<\/em> from BBC Studios, and Saloon Media will start production this month of <em>Life Below Zero: Canada<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>In the U.S., the show airs on National Geographic, where it takes up the largest portion of the channel\u2019s programming lineup and recently celebrated its 100th episode.<\/p>\n<p>The new documentary series is being shot on-location in Canada and is set to air on the Cottage Life channel in 2020. It is being produced for eight one-hour episodes. A 30-minute, sneak-peek episode will premiere on the channel this April.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Life Below Zero<\/em> has been a must-watch series for Canadian viewers on Cottage Life and now we\u2019re going to be able to give our audiences a localized version of content they love,\u201d said Sam Linton, the head of original content at Blue Ant Media. \u201cSaloon Media\u2019s track record of award-winning production on factual series makes them a perfect fit for this series.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Michael L.
