BBC Studios has signed an agreement with Mediacorp in Singapore for the factual-entertainment format Stupid Man, Smart Phone<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Stupid Man, Smart Phone<\/em> sees a comedian from the city attempt some of the world’s most challenging outdoor adventures using only his smartphone to survive. The Singaporean treatment will be hosted by Hirzi Zulkiflie, who will be joined by a celebrity guest each week. The 8×30-minute show will debut early next year on Mediacorp’s Channel 5 and digital service Toggle.<\/p>\n

Stupid Man Smart Phone<\/em> is a Second Star and Kalel production for the BBC in association with BBC Brit. It first aired on BBC Three in the U.K. in 2016.<\/p>\n

Myleeta Aga, BBC Studios’ senior VP and general manager for South and Southeast Asia, commented: \u201c84 percent of Singaporeans are now online, and 75 percent of them are active mobile social users. On average, Singaporeans spend two hours and six minutes per day using social media. Stupid Man, Smart Phone<\/em> is a timely, entertaining and poignant reminder of how dependent we have become on our smartphones. We are confident that the series will resonate and be enjoyed by Channel 5 and Toggle audiences in Singapore.\u201d<\/p>\n
