{"id":6172,"date":"2018-04-02T11:13:59","date_gmt":"2018-04-02T15:13:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/masterchef-singapore-set-mediacorps-channel-5\/"},"modified":"2018-04-02T11:13:59","modified_gmt":"2018-04-02T15:13:59","slug":"masterchef-singapore-set-for-mediacorps-channel-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/masterchef-singapore-set-for-mediacorps-channel-5\/","title":{"rendered":"MasterChef Singapore Set for Mediacorp&#8217;s Channel 5"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Singaporean version of <em>MasterChef<\/em> will air in English on Mediacorp&#8217;s Channel 5 rather than in Mandarin on Channel 8 after further negotiations with Endemol Shine Group.<\/p>\n<p>The English-language rights to <em>MasterChef Singapore<\/em> were previously unavailable, Mediacorp said in a statement, so the show was initially set to air on the Mandarin-language service Channel 8.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cWe are excited to be working with Endemol Shine Group to bring the <em>MasterChef<\/em> format to Singapore for the very first time,\u201d said Steven Murphy, managing director of Motion Content Group, Asia Pacific, which acquired the rights to the hit cooking format. \u201cSince the casting call went out in February, we have been impressed by the high levels of interest and passion from the public.
