{"id":5902,"date":"2017-10-12T10:56:46","date_gmt":"2017-10-12T14:56:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/twofour-adapt-live-pd-u-k\/"},"modified":"2017-10-12T13:54:29","modified_gmt":"2017-10-12T17:54:29","slug":"twofour-to-adapt-live-pd-for-the-u-k","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/twofour-to-adapt-live-pd-for-the-u-k\/","title":{"rendered":"Live PD Being Adapted for the U.K."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Twofour has licensed the rights for the unscripted format <em>Live PD<\/em> from A+E Networks, with a U.K. version currently in development for ITV.<\/p>\n<p>The local treatment of <em>Live PD<\/em> will follow the work of police forces around the U.K. The original American series has been a hit on A&amp;E Network in the U.S., with approximately 2.1 million viewers and more than 130 episodes.<\/p>\n<p>Melanie Leach, the chief executive of Twofour Group, stated: \u201cWe&#8217;re hugely impressed by the format, execution and ratings track of <em>Live PD<\/em>. It&#8217;s an incredibly bold, ambitious and noisy program, and we&#8217;re delighted to have the opportunity of remaking it for a British audience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sue Murphy, ITV&#8217;s head of factual entertainment, noted: &#8220;<em>Live PD<\/em> is an audacious, fresh, talk-about idea and feels like the next turn of the wheel in this area. It&#8217;s exactly what we&#8217;re looking for at ITV at the moment, so I&#8217;m very happy to be working with Twofour and A+E on this\u200e.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Hayley Babcock, the head of formats, international production and programming at A+E Networks, added: \u201cA+E Networks formats are known for being bold, telling stories that are genuine and taking risks that pay off. <em>Live PD<\/em> fits that mold and then some. It is the number one true-crime series on cable in the U.S. for a reason. <em>Live PD<\/em> presents a truly unfiltered look at the activity of multiple police officers in multiple cities on a typical evening across the country. It gives an amazing real-time view into how police and citizens interact with each other.
