{"id":5507,"date":"2017-03-31T03:15:00","date_gmt":"2017-03-31T07:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/worldscreen.com\/"},"modified":"2017-03-31T12:19:29","modified_gmt":"2017-03-31T16:19:29","slug":"ae-networks-newen-in-french-formats-pact","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/ae-networks-newen-in-french-formats-pact\/","title":{"rendered":"A+E Networks &#038; Newen in French Formats Pact"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NEW YORK: A+E Networks is partnering with Newen Studios to bring a range of formats to French audiences.<\/p>\n<p>Under the pact, Newen will be able to produce such A+E formats as <em>Alone<\/em> and <em>Bride &amp; Prejudice<\/em> for local versions. <em>Bride &amp; Prejudice<\/em> features couples trying to overcome differences in race, religion, class or sexuality. <em>Alone<\/em> is a self-shot format that features survival experts being dropped into wilderness locations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur deal with Newen demonstrates A+E Networks&#8217; commitment to continued expansion in the international marketplace through strong, long-term partnerships with the best broadcast and production players,\u201d said Patrick Vien, the executive managing director of international at A+E Networks. \u201cOur formats belong to a new generation of television; they are entertainment with a social purpose. After major success in the U.S.\u00a0and the U.K. we consider France\u2019s audience to offer enormous potential for groundbreaking formats.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled to be partnering with Newen to grow our collective businesses together,\u201d added Denis Cantin, the VP, head of international sales for EMEA at A+E Networks. \u201cAs Newen becomes A+E\u2019s production partner in France, it opens the door to our U.S. channels for Newen\u2019s formats and their next high-end drama series.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bibiane Godfroid, the managing director of Newen, commented, &#8220;Production Valley (Newen\u2019s subsidiary in charge of factual and entertainment) will be highly dedicated to the promotion of A+E formats on the French market and will work with all the broadcasters to promote them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Alexandra Crucq, the managing director of Production Valley, said, \u201cI am delighted that this agreement could be made between this great player of the U.S. market and Production Valley.
