{"id":4876,"date":"2016-04-05T02:00:48","date_gmt":"2016-04-05T06:00:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/worldscreen.com\/"},"modified":"2016-04-05T02:15:01","modified_gmt":"2016-04-05T06:15:01","slug":"the-big-painting-challenge-to-get-swedish-treatment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/the-big-painting-challenge-to-get-swedish-treatment\/","title":{"rendered":"The Big Painting Challenge to Get Swedish Treatment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CANNES: BBC Worldwide Productions Nordics has secured its first commission to produce a local adaptation\u00a0of <em>The Big Painting Challenge<\/em> for Sweden&#8217;s SVT.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Big Painting Challenge<\/em> is a competition that aims to find a country&#8217;s best amateur artist over the course of six weeks.\u00a0The six-part Swedish version, locally titled <em>Konstn\u00e4rsdr\u00f6mmen<\/em>, will begin filming next month for broadcast on SVT in November 2016. It marks the first international license of the format that\u00a0is\u00a0commissioned from BBC Worldwide&#8217;s wholly owned production base.<\/p>\n<p>Anders Fuchs, the head of content and operations at BBC Worldwide Productions Nordics, said: \u201cWe are eager to get started on our first commission as part of our aim to bring more premium content to the region. <em>The Big Painting Challenge<\/em> proved popular with U.K. viewers so we are delighted to bring this format to Sweden and look forward to seeing what Sweden\u2019s best amateur artists have to offer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Christina Hill, the head of programs at SVT, added: \u201cWe are very happy and excited to present this great format to the Swedish audience together with Nordisk Film. We are currently scanning the country for artistic talent as well as spectacular locations.
