The U.S. version, <em>American Supergroup<\/em>, is currently in production and will premiere on a U.S. network with eight episodes in late spring\/early summer. A major network will be named as the broadcaster in the coming weeks. The show is being filmed in Nashville, Tennessee, with executive producer Barry Josephson of Josephson Entertainment as well as Bridges and Waldrop.<\/p>\n<p><em>Supergroup<\/em> is a music competition showcasing the creation and evolution of the best new band in the country. Guided by a panel of music experts, 25 finalists will be selected to form five groups of five members each. Audiences will interact with, and vote for, bands via social media platforms and an exclusive <em>ASG<\/em> app.<\/p>\n<p>Rights are available for all territories, excluding the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>Waldrop commented: \u201cWe are excited to launch <em>Supergroup<\/em> at the MIPFormat Awards in Cannes, and congratulate all the nominees and winners. We aspire to one day receive the award for <em>Supergroup<\/em>, our unique and exciting format which will highlight all the talented musicians from a particular country, inviting audiences to witness the amazing formation of their own true Supergroup.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bridges added: \u201c<em>American Supergroup<\/em> will take America\u2019s top musicians, put them together in the best combination and deliver the most powerful musical group ever! We are thrilled to air the show in the U.S. and are confident it will be at hit with music and television fans.
