{"id":4765,"date":"2016-03-01T09:13:20","date_gmt":"2016-03-01T14:13:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/prisoners-of-war-set-for-indian-remake\/"},"modified":"2016-03-01T09:13:20","modified_gmt":"2016-03-01T14:13:20","slug":"prisoners-of-war-set-for-indian-remake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/prisoners-of-war-set-for-indian-remake\/","title":{"rendered":"Prisoners of War Set for Indian Remake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MUMBAI: Bollywood director Nikkhil Advani is directing an Indian version of Keshet International&#8217;s <em>Prisoners of War <\/em>for Star Plus.<\/p>\n<p>The Indian adaptation of the drama format, which inspired Showtime&#8217;s Emmy-winning hit <em>Homeland<\/em>, is being produced by Emmay Entertainment, the firm behind such films as <em>Airlift<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Katti Batti<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Hero<\/em> and\u00a0<em>D-Day<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The Israeli drama <em>Prisoners of War<\/em>, created, written and directed by Gideon Raff,\u00a0was a huge hit in its local market and has been licensed into territories across the globe. In addition to spawning <em>Homeland<\/em>, <em>Prisoners of War<\/em> has been adapted in South Korea, Russia and Turkey.<\/p>\n<p>Keren Shahar, managing director of distribution at Keshet International, noted, &#8220;We are extremely proud to be collaborating with Star Plus on one of our most accomplished properties and couldn&#8217;t be happier that\u00a0<em>Prisoners of War\u00a0<\/em>continues to achieve such success internationally. The versatility of the format is evident, since it has attracted a dedicated following anywhere it has aired in the world.
