LONDON: MTV UK is set to produce a local version of the U.S. format Teen Mom<\/em>, which follows the lives and experiences of young mothers and is scheduled to premiere this fall.<\/p>\n

The 8×1-hour documentary series Teen Mom UK<\/em> will be produced by True North and feature an entirely British cast. The U.S. version of Teen Mom<\/em> has run on MTV UK for 12 seasons since its debut in March 2010 and is among its top-performing shows. The original U.S. version first premiered on MTV in 2009 as a spin-off of 16 and Pregnant<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Jill Offman, the managing director of MTV UK, commented: \u201cMTV UK has a great track record of re-versioning hit shows from our sister channel in the U.S. We turned Jersey Shore<\/em> into Geordie Shore<\/em> and smashed ratings records in the process. We\u2019ll use this expertise to give Teen Mom<\/em> a fresh lease on life, combined with a unique British twist, which we\u2019re confident will have massive appeal to local audiences.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fiona O\u2019Sullivan, executive producer at True North, added: “True North is delighted to be entrusted with making the U.K. version of Teen Mom<\/em>.
