The format originally comes from Animo TV.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn this sociological experiment we incite debate,\u201d said a spokesperson for the Basque regional channel. \u201cIn a society polarized by the rise of social networks, people from different generations, ideologies and worlds will come together in this innovative format. Every week, two completely unknown people with totally opposite opinions on the same subject will sit down together for dinner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This new version follows after the recent expansion of the format in Ireland, where Virgin Media released a third season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Dinner with the Enemy<\/em> delivers compelling viewing that sparks conversation and connection,\u201d said Nick Smith, executive VP of formats at All3Media International. \u201cIn today\u2019s polarised world, Animo TV\u2019s format not only encourages debate but also inspires respect for differences. With EITB launching a local version this month and Virgin Media recently airing a third season filled with dynamic new format points, <em>Dinner with the Enemy<\/em> has proven that it has international appeal and adaptability.
