{"id":15005,"date":"2025-04-10T09:56:34","date_gmt":"2025-04-10T13:56:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/saturday-night-live-coming-to-the-u-k-with-sky\/"},"modified":"2025-04-10T09:56:35","modified_gmt":"2025-04-10T13:56:35","slug":"saturday-night-live-coming-to-the-u-k-with-sky","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/saturday-night-live-coming-to-the-u-k-with-sky\/","title":{"rendered":"Saturday Night Live Coming to the U.K. with Sky"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sky has lined up a U.K. iteration of the hit sketch-comedy showcase <em>Saturday Night Live<\/em> (<em>SNL<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p><em>SNL<\/em> creator Lorne Michaels is set to executive produce <em>Saturday Night Live UK<\/em>, in addition to continuing to executive produce <em>SNL<\/em> on NBC in the U.S.\u202f<em>SNL UK<\/em> will be produced by Broadway Video and Universal Television Alternative Studio\u2019s U.K. production team.<\/p>\n<p>The London-based series will follow the same live, fast-paced format as the U.S. version, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, with iconic hosts, musical guests and a core cast of British comedians.<\/p>\n<p>Sky Original <em>Saturday Night Live UK<\/em> comes to Sky Max and streaming service NOW in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Cecile Frot-Coutaz, CEO of Sky Studios and chief content officer at Sky, commented: \u201cFor over 50 years, <em>Saturday Night Live<\/em> has held a unique position in TV and in our collective culture, reflecting and creating the global conversation all under the masterful comedic guidance of Lorne Michaels.
