Spark Media Partners and Cineflix Rights have inked their first format deal for the Ch\u00e2teau DIY<\/em> brand, bringing the show to Australia with a local treatment.<\/p>\n

The 5×60-minute Ch\u00e2teau DIY Australia<\/em> will follow Australian families who have given up their lives in Australia to travel halfway around the globe to start a new life in France. Following the same structure as Ch\u00e2teau DIY<\/em>, the local version will feature multiple families at different stages of their castle renovations and business ventures.<\/p>\n

Ch\u00e2teau DIY<\/em> already sells as finished tape to multiple territories globally, but this is the first time the franchise has landed a format deal.<\/p>\n

Spark Media Partners will produce the new series, with Joff Hatfield-Powell, chief creative officer, serving as executive producer. Hatfield-Powell said, \u201cWe know there are hundreds of intrepid ch\u00e2teau owners traveling from all over the world to build their fairytale life renovating a ch\u00e2teau in France, so we\u2019re delighted to be partnering with Nine Network to produce our first local version of this global format.\u201d<\/p>\n

Richard Life, senior VP of acquisitions and co-productions at Cineflix Rights, added, \u201cCh\u00e2teau DIY<\/em> is a hugely successful show enjoyed by millions of viewers around the world.
