{"id":10512,"date":"2024-04-05T09:00:19","date_gmt":"2024-04-05T13:00:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/worldscreen.com\/"},"modified":"2024-04-05T09:58:30","modified_gmt":"2024-04-05T13:58:30","slug":"something-special-sells-formats-into-spain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvformats\/something-special-sells-formats-into-spain\/","title":{"rendered":"Pair of South Korean Formats Headed to Spain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The reality game-show format <em>Still Alive<\/em> and the celebrity competition format <em>Battle in the Box <\/em>have been picked up by local production labels under\u00a0Spain&#8217;s Mediawan.<\/p>\n<p>Veranda Media took <em>Still Alive<\/em>, and Boomerang picked up <em>Battle in the Box<\/em>. <em>Still Alive<\/em> sees ten contestants find clues and compete in challenges in a mysterious mansion, while <em>Battle in the Box<\/em> sees two celebrity teams fight to secure their space.<\/p>\n<p>The formats are distributed by Something Special.<\/p>\n<p>Jin Woo Hwang, Something Special&#8217;s president and executive producer, stated: \u201cSomething Special is pleased to announce that Mediawan acquired our special formats <em>Still Alive<\/em> and <em>Battle in the Box<\/em> for Spain. We\u2019re also excited to bring the freshest and the best Korean formats for the first time internationally during MIPTV and MIPFormats. Our head of international business will be presenting a case study of <em>Still Alive<\/em> at MIPFormats, which we are proudly representing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jorge Pezzi, CEO of Boomerang, said, \u201cWe are delighted to announce that we have acquired the rights for Spain to <em>Battle in the Box<\/em>. We are convinced that it is a very attractive format for the Spanish public. The Boomerang TV unscripted team is experts in adapting international entertainment brands, and I am convinced that they will make a great version of<em> Battle in the Box<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tono Hern\u00e1ndez, director of non-scripted at Veranda Media, stated, \u201cWe are thrilled to partner with Something Special to bring <em>Still Alive<\/em> to Spanish audiences.
