The first season, which has seen 16 Gladiators compete against Contenders in various events, debuted in January.<\/p>\n<p>The original America <em>Gladiators<\/em> series was created by Johnny C. Ferraro and Dan Carr.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Gladiators<\/em> has really kicked this year off with a bang, and we\u2019re so delighted that the fans have come to the show in their masses,\u201d said Kalpna Patel-Knight, head of entertainment at the BBC. \u201cIt has been wonderful to hear how much families have loved watching this together, as part of the BBC\u2019s Saturday evening entertainment offering. We can\u2019t wait for more action from the <em>Gladiators<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s no exaggeration to say that the response to <em>Gladiators<\/em> has been phenomenal,\u201d commented Dan Baldwin, managing director of Hungry Bear Media. \u201cThe episodes have been packed with nail-biting drama, thrilling action and huge emotion. [Season] two will see the show go from strength to strength. We have some amazing surprises in store for the fans.
