Netflix has greenlit a second season of its reality competition series Squid Game: The Challenge<\/em> following the success of the first.<\/p>\n

The series ranked number one on Netflix\u2019s top ten English TV list for both weeks it was eligible and also hit the top ten in 93 countries. The finale of season one debuts on December 6 at 9 p.m. ET and will see the winner receive a $4.56 million reward.<\/p>\n

The ten-episode first season was a co-production between Studio Lambert (The Circle<\/em>) and The Garden (24 Hours in A&E<\/em>), part of ITV Studios. Executive producers are The Garden\u2019s Nicola Brown and John Hay; Studio Lambert\u2019s Tim Harcourt, Toni Ireland, Stephen Lambert, Nia Yemoh and Stephen Yemoh; Anna Kidd; and Louise Peet.<\/p>\n

The scripted drama Squid Game<\/em>, which the competition takes its inspiration from, holds the record as Netflix\u2019s most popular series of all time, with over 1.65 billion view hours in the first 28 days after its premiere in September 2021. It was previously renewed for a second season as well.<\/p>\n
