VTM Acquires Talpa’s The Wishing Tree

AMSTERDAM: VTM in Belgium has picked up the format The Wishing Tree from Talpa.

The format, which sees young children hang their wishes for others on a wishing tree, launched at MIPCOM earlier this month. This marks the first international deal for The Wishing Tree.

Gepke Nederlof, the head of global licensing at Talpa, commented: “In the current television landscape, viewers are in need of uplifting shows with a positive vibe. This works perfectly with our approach to emotainment shows like The Wishing Tree—moving formats that are able to touch viewers with their pure nature. We believe VTM is the perfect fit for the format and are looking forward to working together on this title in Belgium."
