The Greatest Dancer Chinese Adaptation

Fremantle, Syco Entertainment and Shanghai Media Group have collaborated on the new Chinese talent show The Magnificent Dancer, based on the format The Greatest Dancer.

The Magnificent Dancer, the English translation for 伟大的舞者, will be co-developed by Shanghai Media Group, Fremantle and Syco Entertainment and is set to launch on Dragon TV later this spring. The prime-time entertainment series will bring together a range of local talent—from ballet and jazz to hip hop and every dance style imaginable—as they give the performances of their lives in the search for China’s greatest dancer.

Yu Song, in the international department of Dragon TV, said: “Dragon TV is honored to develop this new dance show with Fremantle and Syco, who are known globally for producing the best and most successful entertainment formats. We look forward to sharing expertise and deepening our strong relationship throughout the development process, and  we also hope to have more cooperation with Fremantle and Syco in the future to create more successful shows.”

We are proud to be partnering again with SMG, who we work with on China’s Got Talent, to bring The Magnificent Dancer (伟大的舞者) to China.
