Saturday Night Live to See Italian Version

The Emmy Award-winning show Saturday Night Live (SNL) is set for a local version on Sky Italia’s free-to-air channel TV8.

Produced by Fatma Ruffini’s production company FTM Entertainment, the 6×90-minute Italian treatment launches today, Saturday, April 7, at 9 p.m. Hosted by actor and presenter Claudio Bisio, the new version of SNL will showcase the best in Italian comedy and entertainment. Sky Italia’s version marks the 12th international remake of Saturday Night Live, which has adaptations across France, Poland and South Korea.

Ana Langenberg, the senior VP of format sales and production for NBCUniversal International Formats, which distributes SNL, commented, “It is great to be partnering with Sky Italia on SNL. As such an iconic brand, the show will remain true to its format, but we can’t wait to see FTM Entertainment and Sky put their own twist on it to keep it fresh and culturally relevant for local audiences.”
