Race Across the World Lands German Adaptation

ZDF is set to debut a German adaptation of Studio Lambert’s Race Across the World in 2025.

Represented by All3Media International, the format sees five pairs of contestants discover different landscapes, cultures and historical sites across the world, with only the cash equivalent of the airfare to fly the route. With no access to smartphones, internet or credit cards, the teams must find quick, inexpensive ways to make it through the journey and reach the final checkpoint first.

The German iteration is being produced by TOWER, an All3Media company.

Race Across the World has run for three seasons and one celebrity season in the U.K. on the BBC, with new seasons of both the original and celebrity versions commissioned. It has been adapted in Denmark and The Netherlands and will soon premiere in Finland on MTV Katsomo and MTV3.
