ZDFE Touts Comedy Formats Sketch History & The Brown Family

MAINZ: Sketch History and The Brown Family, two ZDF/ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE) co-pros from the ZDFE.entertainment catalog, won at the 2016 German Comedy Awards held in Cologne earlier this week.

Sketch History, which was named best comedy show, spotlights the amusing stories behind famous historical events. The ensemble cast includes Max Giermann, Matthias Matschke, Antoine Monot, Valerie Niehaus, Isabell Polak, Judith Richter, Alexander Schubert, Holger Stockhaus and Carsten Strauch. The show is produced by HPR Bild und Ton in association with Warner Bros.

The Brown Family was awarded a prize in the best innovation category. The 8×6-minute dramedy, which stars Edin Hasanovic, Vincent Krüger and Nomie Laine Tucker, takes a humorous look at right-wing radicalism. The show first launched as a web series. It is a co-production of the Polyphon Film- und Fernsehgesellschaft mbH and ZDF/Quantum, Das kleine Fernsehspiel.
