MBC Wins Arbitration in China Over The Masked Singer

The China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission has ruled for Korean broadcaster MBC in its long-running dispute against Shanghai CanXing Culture & Media over The Masked Singer.

MBC says that China was one of the earliest markets to adapt The Masked Singer, with Jiansu satellite channel launching the show in 2015. MBC says it was later renamed as Guess Who is the Masked Singer for seasons two through four, with Shanghai CanXing Culture & Media claiming the show as its own original format.

After attempted negotiation efforts with Shanghai CanXing Culture & Media, MBC took its case to the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC). CIETAC has ruled that Shanghai CanXing Culture & Media must disburse all pending payment as well as the arbitration cost to MBC.
